What is Your Area of Spiritual Gifting?

What is Your Area of Spiritual Gifting?

As we we talk about being Positioned to Possess what God is wanting to give us to use for His kingdom, do we know our gifting s, are we training ourselves in that area of calling, are we planning for growth in that calling. It is possible to do everything and end up entangling yourself to know valuable end and not having achieved anything. When we begin to stand in exactly what we are called to do, we begin to fulfill our purposes. It's the saddest thing to walk in someone else's shadow. We need to be who God called us to be in building his church. So God uses Spiritual gifts given to everyone of us for that purpose. Let's discover and start employing them to His glory.

Spiritual Gifts

1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit. 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually has he wills.

One Body with Many Members: verse 12 says, For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.

The following scriptures show us that in the church there was a job for every believer/disciple:

  • Acts 6:1 In those days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Grecian Jews began to grumble against the Hebraic Jews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.
  • Acts 13:1 In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (a childhood companion of Herod the tetrarch), and Saul.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:5 There are different ministries, but the same Lord.
  • 1 Corinthians 12:28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of healing, helping, administration, and various tongues.
  • 1 Corinthians 14:26 What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a psalm or a teaching, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. All of these must be done to build up the church.
What is Your Area of Spiritual Gifting?

We need to identify were we excel the most and start mastering that gift and be able to use it in the building of the Church of Jesus Christ, to the glory of the Father.

Romans 12:…6 We have different gifts according to the grace given us. If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith; 7 if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.…

Are you called to sing,

Are you called to usher,

Are you called to lead,

Are you called arrange,

Are you called to administrate,

Whatever is your gifting area, pursue that and do and use it as unto the Lord.

What is your area of gifting that will benefit the body of Christ and your local church?
