1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

The word “generation” in the theme scripture is derived from the root-word “gene.” A gene is the basic unit of heredity in a living organism. Genes hold the information that builds and maintain an organism’s cells and passes genetic traits from parent to offspring. They determine the physical, mental, and other characteristics an individual inherits from his parents.

When God describes you as “a chosen generation,” it means you belong to a new class of supermen with divine genetic material! Notice the emphasis on “gene” in the word generation. You have God’s “DNA in you.

No wonder the Bible in Romans 8:37 says we are more than conquerors, meaning your lineage is one of champions and victors. No generational curse, sickness, or disease can work against you, or destroy you because you’re a new creation. You have new genes that came from your heavenly Father.

God has never made a failure; that He gave birth to you means you’re a success. Sickness, poverty, disease, death, and defeat are not a part of your divine “DNA”.

This is the reason Jesus died; to produce a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people, a holy nation – a new class of being. You belong in that new class, and it’s the superior race of supermen in Christ.

Despite the calamities, problems the world is dishing to mankind, I believe the Saints have a special favor, a grace that separates them from the unbeliever. God has put a distinction between His worshiper and nonworshipers.

According to the Bible, Israel's character as the chosen people is unconditional as it says in Deuteronomy 14:2, "For you are a holy people to YHWH your God, and God has chosen you to be his treasured people from all the nations that are on the face of the earth."

We need to read Malachi 3: 13 - 18 to get a better picture of being Chosen and the Distinction between the Chosen and those not chosen
Malachi 3:18 (NLT) Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”
The Msg Bible says it like this: Once more you'll see the difference it makes between being a person who does the right thing and one who doesn't, between serving God and not serving him.

The biggest challenge of many called Christians is not knowing, understanding and being who they are supposed to be, (Christians). The Moslems know, the Hindus know, Atheist know but, like I said, most Christians don't.

What is Christianity?
Who is a Christian?
Do we know who we are as believers?

For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

It was God's will to make Israel His special nation through which He would send the Messiah and which He would bless uniquely. It was not for their goodness or greatness but for His glory that he did it, and even Israel's great sins would not lead God to forsake them as a nation or forgo to complete His great purposes for them.

And now you are also His Chosen through Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 2:19 So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.

We are now His people that benefit the promises that He has made to all who believe in Him through His son Jesus.
¶A Chosen Generation
¶A Royal Priesthood
¶A Peculiar People
¶Holy Nation
A People He has Chosen for Himself to show forth His Excellency.
That's who you are, that's who we are now.
