John
14:27 NLT
“I am leaving you with
a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world
cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
PEACE:
is defined as Freedom from Disturbance; tranquility, calm
I
will try to explain it in 5 ways as it is generally used.
Then I will zoom in into only 1-way God wants us to hear today.
1: freedom from disquieting or oppressive
thoughts or emotions.
: in
a state of concord or tranquility. The problem was settled and his mind and
he/she was at peace.***********
2: a
state of tranquility or quiet: such as
a: freedom
from civil disturbance.
b: a
state of security or order within a community provided for by law or custom,
3: harmony
in personal relations.
4a: a
state or period of mutual concord between governments.
b: a
pact or agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a
state of enmity.
5—used
interjectionally to ask for silence or calm or as a greeting or farewell
Peace
is a stress-free state of security and calmness that comes when there's no
fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom. ... When
you feel at peace with yourself, you are content to be the person you are,
flaws and everything.
The Importance of
Peace.
“Peace
is a concept of societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility and
violence. In a social sense, peace is commonly used to mean a lack of conflict
and freedom from fear of violence between individuals or heterogeneous group.”
Types of Peace:
Generally,
peace is classified into two types: Internal peace and External peace. Internal
peace is called by another word ‗inner peace' is peace of mind or soul.
What is the difference
between God's peace and the world's peace? The world's peace is temporal; Jesus' peace
is eternal.
Jesus'
offer of peace says to that same person, run to Jesus and to the body of Christ
for comfort instead. ... Jesus' peace, on the other hand, offers surgery for
the deeper issues of the heart.
Spiritual Peace.
Inner
peace. Inner peace refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at
peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the
face of discord or stress. Being "at peace" is considered by many to
be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious.
What are the benefits
of peace?
Inner
peace calms down the emotions, reduces stress, tension, nervousness and
agitation, and leads to happiness. Imagine how great it would be to stay calm,
focused, and undisturbed by circumstances and people!
Our
Lord and Savior Jesus saw the future need of His disciples and said this in John
14:27 NLT,
“I am leaving you with
a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot
give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
I
am so thankful to God for giving me Jesus Christ and what He did for me and the
rest of mankind on the cross. Lord, I pray that more people will come into the
knowledge of who You are, and receive salvation so that they can understand why
we are at peace in the midst of global calamities. I pray that more and more
people will be set free from sin as they come to You Lord, and have the same peace
that we have and which the world cannot give.
Receive Peace in Jesus’
name, Amen.
